Trialling DARF dog food

DARF was recommended to me by my dog trainer as she was concerned that his raw diet was too rich in protein and contributing to his excitable behaviour. He is about 10 days into having 1/2 recommended DARF portion for breakfast and his usual raw for dinner. So far I think it’s helping and he seems to like it. His system is still getting used to the new food but I’m sure in a couple of weeks his stool will firm up. I’m not a big fan of dry food but I can’t fault the ingredient list.

I used the puppy DARF before as the pellets are smaller, however they have adjusted to the adult size now and love it.

It retains more nutrients than most standard dry kibble, so it will help promote your dog's wellness and give them all the essential nutrients and minerals they need.

What is cold-pressed dog food?

Cold pressed dog food differs from traditional dry dog food because of how the ingredients are processed. The ingredients in conventional dog food are extruded at high temperatures (around 120 degrees) and as a consequence, many nutrients are damaged or destroyed and don't make it to your dog's bowl.

In contrast, when food is Cold Pressed, the raw ingredients are processed gently and at much lower temperatures (around 80 degrees). As a result, the food retains more essential nutrients to support your dog's health.

Another plus for cold pressed food is that it doesn't expand in the dog's stomach in the way that dry extruded food does – it simply dissolves when it enters the stomach. Because of this, cold pressed food is much less likely to cause bloat.

My dogs want more

My opinion is that, although quite expensive, you get what you pay for. I believe the ingredients are good and my dogs really like it. Only trouble is, they always want more! Hard to know whether they're still hungry or if it's just because they like it! No bad breath or bad stomach, flatulence almost non-existent now, and their stools have improved (really 'tidy' and easy to pick up). Delighted. Competitive price from Fetch, with discounted subscription.
